DICOM patient data can be imported from CD or USB flash drives.  Non-DICOM data such as graphic image files (.jpg, .bmp, .png, .tif) can be converted to DICOM before import into the system.
CDs received from sites using an Amicas PACS will be in a non standard DICOM format.  These non-standard CDs can still be imported and sent to the PACS.
Removal of patient specific information is required by HIPAA if the patient images are to be used for teaching or other purposes.  De-identification (anonymize)  while patient specific information is removed the data needed to allow proper study review is maintained.

Specialize tools such as modality specific viewers many times don't provide the DICOM network services or a patient list.  These can be performed by the PACS-Exchange product and launch the specialized tool to work with that data.
Quality Control viewer and included CD viewer perform basic image review features and supports singled framed modalities such as CT and MR but also supports modalities with a mix of single framed and multi framed images such as US, XA and Digital Tomosynthesis.  The viewer supports:

Documents can be scanned, converted to DICOM and attached to the patient study.  Support for any TWAIN compatible scanner is provided.
The system can be configured to support CDs and DVDs.  If the selected patient data exceeds the maximum media size, the patient data is automatically split to multiple pieces of media. The label on the disc indicates the data was split by including the "disc n of m" information on the label.
The system can be configured to operate similar to a paper printer where a study sent from the PACS with create and label a CD without having to touch the system.
