Do I have to be in front of the unit to burn a CD?
No, you can have the system configured to automatically create CDs after a study is received by the system. In this mode, the system works similar to a printer - simply push a study to the burner from your PACS and pick up the burned and labeled CD from the publisher.
The system automatically splits studies to fit on separate CD capacities, including the "n of m" label to indicate the number of CDs for the patient. The system can also be configured to support DVD and Blu-ray so if the studies don't fit on a CD, they will automatically be placed onto a DVD or Blu-ray.
Will reports for the patient be included on the CD?
Yes, there are several ways the system pulls patient reports and works with native DICOM SR (Structure Reports), McKesson interface, Philips iSite, GE report server, Sectra, http and web service queries.
Is any patient data stored in the cloud when using the peer-to-peer medical image transfer?
No, the peer-to-peer (P2P) transfer service encrypts all patient data and sends to the destination without storing or mining patient data. This is the only truly secure method of patient data transfer.
Do I have to get my IT department involved to use the peer-to-peer transfer service to transfer medical images?
As long as you are able to access a secure site on the Internet (example: https://www.google.com/), you can easily use the P2P transfer service to securely send and receive patient images, reports and other files.
Can the system import Amicas proprietary CDs?
Yes, the system supports creating DICOM data from the proprietary format which can be sent directly to your PACS.
What CD viewers are supported?
The system includes an easy to use viewer, to be included on the CD. Any viewer that can read a DICOMDIR is supported. Proprietary viewers such as the McKesson, Philips, and GE are supported.
Does the system allow matching of studies I received on CDs, to patients in my PACS?

Does the system handle Digital Tomosynthesis?
